Hydration is Key

Water, water, everywhere! Make sure Baxter has access to plenty of fresh, cool water at all times. Consider adding ice cubes to his bowl for an extra refreshing treat. Dehydration is a serious threat in summer, so regular monitoring is crucial. Signs of dehydration include lethargy, sunken eyes, and dry gums. If you notice any of these, contact your vet immediately.

Shade and Shelter

The midday sun can be brutal. Ensure Baxter has access to shaded areas throughout the day, whether that's under a tree, a patio umbrella, or in a cool, well-ventilated room inside. Never leave him unattended in a parked car, even for a few minutes – the temperature inside can rise rapidly and become fatal.
